Four Germantown High School basketball players were arrested on Thursday, January 23rd for illegal drug violations specifically possession of marijuana. The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. when a Germantown police officer stopped a car near Mequon and Goldendale Roads for a traffic violation. While making contact with the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana inside the car. A total of Six people inside the vehicle were arrested. Five were issued municipal citations for possession of marijuana, booked and released. All six people involved are students at Germantown High School, including four who play on the school’s basketball team — Dearionte Hudson, Brian Bearden, Lamonte Bearden and Lamont Williams Christian, all 18-years-old, therefore the names are being released. The other two students are 17-year-old girls. One is being charged for possession with intent to deliver marijuana; she was booked and transported to the Washington County Jail. Since the arrest occurred off the school campus, any academic disciplinary actions will be handled by the Germantown School District.
