A 30-year-old West Bend man was taken to jail for resisting after a police officer approached him at the Pick ‘n Save on South Main Street last Friday night because he had a warrant for his arrest and he allegedly ran away from the officer. According to a West Bend Police Department report, police received an anonymous tip at about 6:30 p.m. that a 30-year-old West Bend man, who had an active warrant for his arrest, was at the store. When an officer approached the man, he ran through the store to an exit, but an employee and a customer stopped the man long enough for the officer to catch up. The man tried to flee again, but was taken into custody in the vestibule. The man was taken to jail for resisting an officer and for a felony warrant issued by the Department of Corrections. West Bend Police also report that on Saturday morning at 1220am, a 48 year old West Bend, man was initially stopped for multiple lane deviations. The driver was found to be intoxicated, he failed the field sobriety tests and was arrested for his 2nd Offense OWI. The man was placed in jail following the blood test on a Probation Hold.
