2/17 Community Meeting in Campbellsport for Sex Offender

A community meeting will be held this week for a convicted sex offender who is moving into Campbellsport. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says Charles Buckarma will be living in the Community Care Incorporated adult-family home in Campbellsport. The 25-year-old has an intellectual disability and Community Care is a state-approved managed care organization that will provide direct supervision at all times. Buckarma was convicted of Third Degree Sexual Assault for contact with a teenage boy in Washington County in 2004. In 2010, he was committed to Human Services after being found incompetent to stand trial on a charge of First Degree Sexual Assault for an incident with 6-year-old boy. Buckarma will not show up as a sex offender by conducting a search on the public sex offender registry website because the only offense that would mandate registration was committed as a juvenile.  Authorities say an informed public is a safer public and the notification is not intended to increase fear. Buckarma served his time and is not wanted by law enforcement.  The community meeting will be this Thursday at 6pm at Wayne Elementary School in Campbellsport.
