The Washington County Sheriff’s Department is reminding residents about an informational meeting tonight regarding the release of Charles Buckarma, a sex offender who will be living in the town of Wayne. The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at Wayne Elementary School, 5760 Mohawk Road, to give residents information about the offenses Buckarma committed and his release plan. Residents will also have the opportunity to ask questions. According to a Sheriff’s Department news release, the 25 year old Buckarma, was convicted of third-degree sexual assault in Washington County in 2004. The victim was a 16-year-old boy, whom Buckarma knew, and the assault involved touching and penetration. Buckarma has a long history including similar behaviors. Buckarma will live at a residential facility located on Highway W, outside of Campbellsport operated by Community Care, Inc., a state approved managed care organization. He will be directly supervised at all times.
