A Beaver Dam man was sentenced to a year in jail Wednesday for a drunken driving high speed chase. Cozy McNeal was clocked going 100-miles-per-hour and refused to stop once deputies initiated a pursuit, at one point nearly running over a man walking a dog. It happened around 3am last August on County Road A in the Town of Oak Grove. The 32-year-old did not immediately stop when the squad lights were activated, rolled through a stop sign at Highway 26 and continued for a short time at 80mph before gradually slowing down. McNeal was taken into custody without further incident. His blood alcohol level was over two-times the legal limit for driving at point-one-eight-nine. McNeal pled to charges of felony Fleeing and misdemeanor fourth offense OWI. He had two other misdemeanors dismissed.
