3/31 Local Elections Set for Tuesday Around Washington County

There are several contested races in West Bend, including that of mayor, pitting incumbent Kraig Sadownikow against Roger Kist, a District 8 alderman since 2009. There are also contested races in West Bend aldermanic districts 1 and 5. The West Bend School Board has four candidates running for three seats. All 30 County Board districts will have elections Tuesday, but only six are contested races, those being in Districts 9, 13, 15, 17, 25 and 28. Other Elections around the county include a contested race for District 3 Trustee in the Village of Germantown; a five-way race for three trustee seats in the village of Jackson; four candidates vying for three seats on the Kewaskum Village Board; four seeking election to three seats on the Newburg Village Board; four candidates seeking three trustee seats in the Village of Richfield and four running for three Slinger trustee seats.
A few school districts in the county have contested races, including Kewaskum, Slinger and Hartford Union High school district. Two referendums will appear on ballots in the county. Voters in the city of Hartford will be asked if the city should borrow $5 million for the purpose of replacing Veterans Memorial Pool. Polling places will be open from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday. Voters in Hartford’s District 2 will be directed to polls on the second floor of the Hartford City Hall. Because of the renovations to the second floor, the polls that used to be on the first floor for elections have been relocated.
