It was fairly quiet weekend on the streets of West Bend, except for two incidents on Sunday. According to Lieutenant Michael Hartwell, early Sunday morning at two thirty am, police stopped a 27 year old woman at the intersection of North 18th Avenue and Morgan Drive for erratic driving on Washington Street. She was given field sobriety tests and failed them. She was cited for first Offense OWI. The second incident happened Sunday night at 7:30 PM on the south east side. According to the report, a seven year old boy, was playing outside when he ran out into the street from between two parked vehicles. He was struck by a vehicle being operated by a 19 year old West Bend man. The young boy was taken to St Joseph’s Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
