4/15 OWI Arrests and Battery Assault Highlight Police Weekend

West Bend Police were kept active over the weekend with a series of arrests that while were minor are still a bit serious. The first happened Friday night at about six twenty in the 1600 block of West Washington. According to the report provided by Lieutenant Michael Hartwell, a 19 West Bend man, backed out of a parking stall and struck a light pole.  When the man pulled forward, he struck a large truck pushing it into another vehicle. Police arrived and questioned the man. He was found to be impaired. They conducted field sobriety tests which he failed and was cited for his first Offense OWI.  He was placed in jail on a Probation Hold.  Police also recorded a Disorderly conduct battery case on Saturday morning at three am on the south east side. The details in the report provided by Lieutenant Hartwell have Police arriving at the home and arresting a 24 year old Milwaukee man after he was involved in a physical altercation with the mother of his child.  The victim, a 22 year of West Bend woman, told police that the man held her to the floor and burned her with a cigarette.  He was placed in jail for Disorderly Conduct and Battery.
