4/16 Student Removed from Hartford Central Middle School for Weapons Threat

Hartford police are reporting that they were called out to the Central Middle School on Cedar Street on Tuesday morning and found that a 13-year-old student had brought an AirSoft toy pistol to school. According to the report, Police say they were dispatched to the school just before 11:00 a.m., after receiving a report that a student had been making comments about having brought a weapon to school. Per their school emergency operations and crisis response plan, Central Middle School went into an administrative hold, the facility was secured, and police were notified. Prior to the police arriving at the school, administrators had recovered the AirSoft weapon. The 13-year-old student was taken into custody and removed from the school.No one was injured in the incident. Charges of disorderly conduct and a violation of restrictions on the carrying of a facsimile firearm have been referred to the Washington County Juvenile Intake for review and prosecution.
