Apparently age does not factor into a person’s knowledge of proper driving regulations. West Bend police are reporting that on Tuesday afternoon at about four they pulled over a 63 year old man from West Bend at the intersection of Barton and Commerce for a routine traffic violation. Upon questioning, he was found to be drunk after he failed the standard field sobriety tests. He was arrested for his fifth offense OWI and taken to jail. Police are also reporting that a little over an hour later at five fifteen they were called to the St Vincent DePaul store on River Road. According to the report from Lieutenant Michael Hartwell, a 77 year old West Bend man, concealed a DVD and left St Vincent DePaul without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise. The man left the store and employees were able to get information on his car and gave it to police. An officer located the man in his vehicle a short time later. He was cited for Retail Theft.
