The West Bend Walmart store was the target of two different retail thefts in the span of two hours late Thursday night and early Friday morning. Lieutenant Michael Hartwell of the West Bend Police Department tells WBKV News that the first theft happened a few minutes prior to midnight Thursday. A 54 year old West Bend woman, took $23 dollars worth of Easter candy and left the store without paying for the merchandise. She was stopped by Loss Prevention agents and detained until the Police could get to the store. She was issued a citation for Retail Theft. The second theft case, according to Lieutenant Hartwell is a bit more serious. Friday morning at around two ten am four women from Milwaukee, one age 17 year, two 19 year olds and a 22 year old were at Walmart. They removed multiple items of merchandise and left the store without paying for the items. Loss Prevention agents were able to provide vehicle information which was relayed to several police departments. The vehicle was stopped by the Jackson Police Department and the stolen property was located in the vehicle. All four women were placed in jail for Retail Theft. The 17 year old female was also arrested for Felony Bail Jumping and Obstructing an Officer as she provided a false name to the officer. The total amount of the merchandise taken totaled over $560 dollars.
