4/23 Armed Suspect Robs Washington County Tavern

An armed suspect robbed an area tavern in the Town of Wayne Tuesday morning just prior to closing and took off with an undisclosed amount of cash.  According to the report filed by Lieutenant Martin Schulteis of The Washington County Sheriff’s Department, the robbery occurred around 1:45 a.m. at CC’s Place located on County Trunk W. An armed subject forced his way into the tavern and knocked a 27 year-old female bartender to the floor. He then pointed a firearm at the employee and demanded money. The suspect was described as being a male, 5’8” tall, with a medium build and was wearing a ski mask. There were no customers inside at the time of the robbery, and the employee was not seriously hurt. It is thought that his getaway vehicle may have been an older tan four door car. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 262-335-4378.
