Some good economic news for West Bend was confirmed last night by members of the city’s planning commission as it was announced that M.D. Design and Automation Incorporated from Menomonee Falls plans to re-locate to West Bend and build a $900,000 office-manufacturing-warehouse facility in the River Road Industrial Park. The proposed facility would be a 12,000-square-foot building on 2.5 acres of land in that area. Company officials with M.D. Design would move 15 jobs from its current facility in Menomonee Falls to West Bend, with plans to add five more positions. The announcement of this move by M.D. Design becomes the second business to recently relocate its facilities to the city. Federal Tool & Engineering LLC, of Cedarburg, announced last month that it will move its entire operation to West Bend, expanding its Stoneridge Road plant in the city’s business park, which is estimated to be a $2.6 million dollar project.
