5/7 Donations Coming in for Five Children of Germantown Couple

It's been almost three weeks since five children from Germantown lost their parents, Josh and Monica Griebel, to a tragic car accident in Richfield. Since then, people from Germantown have banded together to try and help out financially. The first of several local fundraising events took place Sunday at Old Town Inn, where fifteen percent of its proceeds that day were donated to the children. The generosity has been over flowing. In the three short weeks, according to a local Germantown news source, more than $20,000 has already been raised via a GoFundMe.com account that was established for the children, who range in age from 16 months to 13 years. That is not the only effort underway. The community has rallied around the children in a number of other ways. Sudz Carwash locations in Germantown, Franklin and Cudahy are matching every dollar customers donate to benefit the Griebel family up to $17,000 towards the purchase of a family van. In Hubertus, Sterling Chalet owner Heidi McKenna said she has received an outpouring of support for the event planned at her banquet facility for May 31st. McKenna says she is expecting anywhere between three and five thousand people. The event, will feature live music and games for kids and their families from 2 to 8 p.m. McKenna, attended Germantown High School with the couple.
