In Honor of those who have died in the line of duty and dedicated to those who live in and serve our community, law enforcement agencies from all around Washington County will get together tonight for the annual Washington County Law Enforcement Memorial service. The solemn ceremony starts at seven pm. It will be held at the Washington County Fair Park inside the Ziegler Family expo Center. This year’s host agency is the Hartford Police Department. Hartford Police Chief David Groves will emcee the ceremony. Guest speakers include Hartford Mayor Joe Dauterman; Mark Benson, Washington County District Attorney and Dave Perlman Wisconsin Assistant Attorney General. The Greater Milwaukee Fire and Police Pipes and drum will play a few selections including the ceremonial version of taps. A special addition to the ceremony includes the lighting of ceremonial candles by The Germantown and Hartford Police Explorer Posts. That will be followed by a rifle salute by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department Honor Guard. A social hour with refreshments will follow the ceremony. The public is invited and encouraged to attend tonight’s ceremony.
