5/15 Police Search for Dog that Bit Man

A 22 year West Bend man is hoping citizens can help him and police identify a dog that bit him last week, so he can avoid having to go thru a series of very painful shots. The West Bend Police Department has issued a public informational release in an attempt to aid their investigation. According to the report, at six fifty three pm on May eighth, the man was riding his bike on the Eisenbahn Trail near Park Avenue when he was bit on the thigh by a dog. The dog that bit the victim is described as a yellow colored dog, possibly a Labrador.  The dog was being walked by a woman, approximately 30 to40 years of age.  This woman was in the company of another woman who was also walking a darker color Labrador. The owner of the dog left without providing any information regarding her dog. West Bend Police have been unable to determine the owner of the dog.  It is important that the dog is properly identified and verification of proper vaccinations can take place.  Without this information, the victim may have to go through a series of shots. Anyone with information concerning the identity of the owner of the dog and its owner is being asked to please contact the West Bend Police Department at 335-5000.
