The Dodge County Courthouse and Sheriff’s Office will be participating in AN open house and offering tours tomorrow from 10 am to 2 pm. The Courthouse it was dedicated in 2001. The facility includes five state of the art courtrooms. Visitors will be able to observe how the Dodge County courts use electronics in the courts to be efficient. Those touring the facility will also have an opportunity to observe portions of the building usually not open to the public. These areas would include a judge’s chamber, holding cells, jury rooms, and the clerk of courts office. Youth who attend the open house will have two photo opportunities. Children can pose in a judge’s robe on a judge’s bench and be a “judge for a minute.” Or if they prefer, they can also try on a jail jump suit and “serve a minute of time” in the court’s holding cell. The Sheriff’s Office portion of the Open House will include tours of the 9-1-1 Center, Detention Facility, administration, and Emergency Operation Center. In addition to the tours the Sheriff’s Office will have multiple displays of the specialized units to include the SWAT team, Crash Investigation Team, K9 unit, as well as demonstration of the new records management software, New World.
