5/20 Heroin Overdose Leads to Multiple Drug Charges

Friday evening at five forty, the Police Department received a 911 call of a possible drug overdose. According to Lieutenant Michael Hartwell of the West Bend Police, when officers arrived at the home on the north east side, they found an unresponsive 28 year old West Bend man, in the rear entryway of the building.  An investigation determined that the initial victim and an additional 28 year old man also from West Bend, were both in the bedroom of a 21 year old man, and that the two men were injecting heroin.  After the first 28 year old became unresponsive, the two other men dragged him to the entry way where he was found and treated by the West Bend Fire Department.  During the investigation, the second 28 year old male was also showing signs of a possible overdose. Medics transported both 28 year olds to St Joseph’s Hospital where they were treated and released to the custody of the Police Department and placed in jail for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  The 21 year old man was arrested and charged with Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Lieutenant Hartwell also reports that as a direct result of those three arrests, Saturday morning at about one fifteen police executed a search warrant at a home on the south east side.  A 22 year old West Bend, man and a 20 year old  Saukville woman female, were both arrested.  Both individuals were charged with  Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place, Delivery of Heroin and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
