5/28 West Bend Police Kept Busy Over Holiday Weekend

Officers at the West Bend Police Department had anything but a quiet Memorial Day weekend. In his daily media briefing on Tuesday, Lieutenant Hartwell reports a total fifteen criminal incidents.  Friday morning police recorded two separate cases of drug and drug paraphernalia including one involving a 14 year old boy at Silverbrook Middle School.  Friday night at around eight fifteen, police were dispatched to the Walmart store. A 20 year old West Bend woman was stopped by Loss Prevention agents as she was leaving Walmart with several DVD’s which she failed to pay for.  When police arrived the woman was placed in jail for multiple criminal charges including Retail Theft, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Felony Bail Jumping and a Probation Hold. About an hour later, police pulled over a car for speeding at Hawthorn & Lincoln. As officers were questioning the 17 year old woman, they discovered she was in [possession of some marijuana.  The teenage woman was cited for Speeding and for Possession of Marijuana. Finally, early Saturday morning at two fifteen am, a patrol officer observed a 48 years old man and his 25 year old son, walking on Main Street and the 48 year old was bleeding from the head.  The 48 year old man was taken to St Joseph’s Hospital for treatment.  The Investigation determined that the 25 year old had punched his father causing the injury.  The 25 year old was placed in jail for Battery.
