6/3 58 Year Old Man Dies in Two Car Crash

A 58 year old West Bend man died as a result of injuries he sustained Monday afternoon in a two car crash. According to the news release provided by the West Bend Police Department, police received an emergency call at around one ten describing a two car accident in the 300 block of River Road. The initial investigation reveals the 58 year old  man was  driving north on N. River Rd. when his vehicle crossed into the southbound lane. The 58 year old man vehicle was struck by a southbound vehicle driven by a 61 year old man from West Bend.
Both men were transported by West Bend Fire Department Ambulance to St Joseph’s Hospital. The 58 year old man was pronounced dead at the hospital. The 61 Year old was treated for non-life threatening injuries. There were no other occupants in the vehicles. The roadway was closed for several hours to allow for clean up and investigation of the crash. The names of the two men have not been released. This was the first traffic accident involving a fatality in West Bend and the fourth traffic fatality in Washington County this year. The accident remains under investigation by the West Bend Police Department with the assistance of the Wisconsin State Patrol.
