6/4 Police Arrest Couple for OWI's and Other Charges

West Bend Police arrested two people Monday afternoon for multiple traffic violations along with first and second offense OWI's. According to the report provided by Lieutenant Mike Hartwell, at around four fifty a  28 year old man from Cederburg, was driving on Fond du Lac Av when he lost control and struck a tree. His passenger at the time, a 20 year old  Hartford woman  then switched seats, driving the vehicle to a nearby parking lot where the vehicle was parked due to extensive damage from the crash. Officers arrived and started questioning the two people.  During the investigation it was determined that both people were intoxicated and both failed the field sobriety tests.  It was also determined that the woman had stolen a bottle of vodka from Piggly Wiggly.  The man was arrested and placed in jail for a second Offense OWI and Operating without a Vaild License.  He was also cited for Hit & Run and Failure to Keep a Vehicle Under Control.  The Hartford woman was placed in jail for Disorderly Conduct, Obstructing an Officer, and Theft.  She was also cited for  her first Offense OWI, Operating After Suspension, Underage Possession of Alcohol, Open Intoxicants and Failure to Wear Seat Belts.
