United Way of Washington County announces the Chairs who will lead its 2014 local community campaign: Chair, Ted Neitzke, Superintendent of West Bend School District and Honorary Chair, Doug Ziegler, long-standing philanthropist who is serving for the third time in this leadership role. Ted is actively involved in many community organizations and agreed to lead the United Way campaign because of its reach. “It was during the human service day through the West Bend Chamber leadership program that my eyes opened to how many organizations United Way funds,” states Neitzke. “Almost every nonprofit agency that day highlighted that they receive funding from United Way. It was then that I realized the broad scope and impact that United Way has on our community. I had to say yes to this leadership challenge and the opportunity to work side-by-side with Doug, a local living legend.” “Ted and Doug are exceptional leaders, and we are excited to have a multi-generation team at the helm,” said Kristin Brandner, Executive Director of United Way of Washington County. “It is critical that we expand our base and appeal to the next generation of volunteers and donors while also recognizing our many long-standing donors. Both Ted and Doug know how to inspire and motivate people. They will be a highly effective dynamic duo in mobilizing the community to help improve lives and community conditions.
