The Wisconsin D.O.T. is starting a resurfacing project of Washington Street- Highway 33 from Trenton Road to just east of Oak Road in the city of West Bend. The work is expected to be completed by the end of July. The work on this project will include a mill and overlay of asphalt pavement along with a replacement of cross culverts To help ease traffic patterns, the D.O.T. will construct a temporary bypass lane on the east bound lane and a right turn lane on the westbound lane. The project will be divided into three stages. Replacing culvert pipes and resurfacing of Highway 33; construction of the east bound bypass lane at the Oak Road intersection and construction of the west bound right turn lane at the Oak Road intersection. It is the intentions of the D.O.T. to keep highway 33 open to traffic at all times, however D.O.T. officials say occasionally the road will be restricted to one lane of traffic. More information on this project can be found on the Wisconsin D.O.T. website.
