6/19 Two Kewaskum Teenage Boys Killed in Head On Crash

The Wisconsin State Patrol  Waukesha Post is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on Wednesday morning at about eight forty am, on County Highway H. The crash involved a marked Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy’s squad and a 2004 Ford Taurus.   According to the report, the Sheriff’s deputy was transported to St. Joseph Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released.  The driver and the front seat passenger of the Taurus were pronounced dead on the scene. The Wisconsin State Patrol’s accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash. The preliminary investigation determined that the Ford Taurus was westbound on County Highway H when it crossed left of the center line and entered the eastbound lane when it was struck by the Deputy’s squad car.  Heavy rain and wet pavement are thought to have contributed to the crash. The news release from the State Patrol did not initially release the names of the two teenagers involved. However, this morning at eleven they released the names. Travis Trapp age 16, of  Cascade and Brent Schultz also age16, of Kewaskum .  Both were students at Kewaskum High School.  The Kewaskum School District is opening its doors today and Friday as a gathering place for students and community members to share their grief over the death of the two students.
