The Hartford Police Department is releasing information in accordance with state statutes which authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a sex offender’s release when, in the discretion of the agency, the release of information will enhance public safety, awareness, and protection. The individual being publically identified as James Foti was convicted of first degree sexual assault of a child in 2000. His criminal history places him in a classification level which reflects the potential to re-offend. Foti will be released from prison July tenth and live at his mother’s residence at 2034 Lakeview Drive, Foti will not be supervised by the Department of Corrections, but he will have rules and restrictions to follow, including wearing a live tracking GPS unit as a lifetime registered sex offender. An informational community notification meeting regarding Foti’s release will be at 6 p.m. Thursday in the lower level of Hartford City Hall. A police mug shot photo of Foti appears on our website under the local news stories tab. Any questions or concerns on his release shoud be directed to the Sex Offender Registration Specialist Alex Engelken at (414) 777-0541 or Lieutenant Scott MacFarlan at 670-3604.
