Forty seven year old Patrick Melsheimer from Germantown dug himself deeper into a legal hole on Monday, after he failed to appear in a Washington County Court room before Judge James Pouros. Melsheimer is accused of sexually assaulting a sleeping woman. When his case was called, his lawyer told Judge Pouros he spoke with Melsheimer, who told him he forgot about the court date. Judge Pouros immediately issued a bench warrant for Melsheimer’s arrest and forfeited his $2,000 cash bond. According to the criminal complaint, a 51-yearold woman went to the Germantown Police to report the alleged sexual assaults. She told police that she falls sound asleep after she takes prescribed medication. She said however, she awoke three times as Melsheimer allegedly sexually assaulted her at the end of December. Melsheimer has been charged with three counts of second-degree sexual assault of an unconscious victim. He could face a maximum sentence of 40 years imprisonment and $100,000 for each charge.
