On Tuesday night at 7:11pm the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a 3 year old boy that was injured by a riding lawn mower at 4861 Lois Lane in the Town of West Bend. The Allenton Fire Department along with Sheriffs Deputies responded to the scene. Immediately after arriving on the scene, the Allenton Fire Department requested assistance from the West Bend Fire Department. The child was taken by ambulance to St Joseph’s Hospital in the Town of Polk, and then flown to Children’s Hospital via Flight for Life. The child’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening. According to Sergeant Kemps of the Sheriff’s Department, the preliminary investigation revealed that the child was running behind the lawnmower and subsequently slipped and slid underneath the deck. The incident appears to be accidental.
