7/1 Motorcycle vs. Deer Accident and Minor Driving a Car

The final weekend in the month of June proved to be a busy one for Washington County Sheriff Deputies. Lieutenant Martin Schulteiss is reporting three different types of vehicle mishaps. Saturday night at ten thirty, deputies responded to the intersection of Scenic View Drive and Deer Ridge in the Town of West Bend.  A twenty year old man from West Bend was observed striking a deer  with his motorcycle and going over his handle bars by a witness. The Driver had road rash to his head and left side. He was transported by ambulance to Froedtert hospital in Milwaukee to be treated for injuries. He was cited for not having a Class M endorsement.  On Sunday morning at twelve thirty am, a Homeowner on County Highway H, called the Sheriff’s office after he observed a vehicle drive south through the stop sign, across the  Highway 28 intersection and down into a steep grass embankment.  The vehicle could not be seen by the roadway and it came to rest at the base of the embankment about two hundred feet from the road. The caller told the dispatcher that they continued to hear an engine revving. Deputies arrived and located the driver a 21 year old Lomira man, in the vehicle. He admitted to drinking, and could barely stand. A breathalyzer test was conducted and he registered a point one nine. He was arrested and charged with a first offense OWI.
