7/9 West Bend Police Handle Drug and Liquor Law Violation

The first portion of this week is beginning to look like a carbon copy on the streets of West Bend as police have found themselves dealing with numerous minor criminal incidents.  On Monday night at six thirty five, police stopped a 26 year old West Bend woman at Meadowbrook and Washington on a routine traffic stop. Upon questioning, it was discovered she was in possession of illegal substances. She was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and an illegal controlled substance.  Monday afternoon, a 22-year-old Hartford woman was jailed on four counts of retail theft for allegedly stealing from four different West Bend stores. According to Lieutenant Michael Hartwell, at about 4:30 p.m. the woman fled Kohl’s on South Main Street after stealing perfume. The woman was eventually found and taken into custody in Kewaskum. The arresting officer discovered the woman was also in possession of stolen merchandise from Walgreen’s, Shopko, Walmart and Kohl’s. She was jailed on four counts of retail theft and four counts of felony bail jumping. Finally early Tuesday morning, police were investigating a 911 call on the south east side and found a 14-year-old boy in a basement storage unit. The young boy had been drinking and police issued him a citation for underage drinking.
