7 / 22 ZZ Top Cancels Concert at Washington County Fair

ZZ Top has canceled its appearance at the 2014 Washington County Fair, which was scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26.  According to a news release from Sandy Lang, Executive Director and Fair Manager, The fair was contacted late Monday directly by the band , and were informed that bass player Dusty Hill will undergo surgery to remove two kidney stones this week. The kidney stones were discovered during the course of a routine physical examination, and Hill's doctor advised him that they should be immediately removed so they don't cause more serious problems in the future. In a prepared statement Lang said, “Although we are very disappointed that this much-anticipated show will not go on as planned, we understand that Mr. Hill's medical condition is something that must take priority."  We are working nonstop to secure a new headliner, and are confident that we'll have some great news to announce in the next 24 to 48 hours. The Washington County Fair suspended ticket sales immediately upon receiving the unfortunate news. The fair organization will provide details on ticket refunds for ZZ Top when the new band is announced
