7 / 24 House Fire in Vilage of Richfield

A fire Wednesday afternoon in the Village of Richfield caused about $150,000 to a home and the closure of Mayfield Road between Holy Hill Road and Hubertus Road for about an hour and a half, according to Lieutenant Stuesser of the Washington County Sheriff's Office. The fire was reported by a neighbor at about two forty at 3307 Moraine Drive. Sheriff's deputies and the Village of Richfield Fire Department were first to arrive on the scene and then requested assistance from the Germantown, Hartford, Jackson and Slinger fire departments. No one was home at the time of the blaze and no firefighters were injured. However, a family pet died in the fire. The exact cause of the fire is  not known at this time and the fire remains under investigation.
