7 / 25 Highway 41 at Slinger to Shut Down for 13 Hours Friday Night

Last weekend road construction in Milwaukee shut down an entire portion of the freeway system. In Washington County tonight starting at seven, a portion of the highway 41 / 144 interchange will be reduced to a single lane starting at seven in each direction, to be followed by a full freeway closure from eight pm until nine am tomorrow morning. The closure is needed in order  for demolition of the existing state Highway 144 bridge deck over the freeway. The freeway will be open to traffic Saturday morning with possible lane restrictions.  D.O.T. officials say if needed, full closure is scheduled again for Saturday night from 8 p.m. to midnight. Detour routes will follow the following routes. Northbound motorists can exit at state Highway 60 and travel west to Highway 175. Follow 175 north to east on Washington County Highway K where vehicles can re-enter the freeway. Southbound motorists can exit at Highway K and drive west to Highway 175. Turn south on 175 to east on Highway 60 and re-enter the freeway. For information about the US 41/WIS 144 improvement project, go to  the projects page on the DOT's web site.
