7 / 28 Police Forced to Use Tazer on Local Man

The weekend got off to a rough start for two area residents after they were arrested on separate violations by West Bend Police. According to Lieutenant Michael Hartwell, on Thursday night at around eleven fifteen, A 27 year old male, resident of West Bend, was observed by an officer skateboarding in the street in the 500 Block of Walnut Street.
When the officer stopped and asked the individual for an ID, the subject fled on foot.  After a short foot pursuit, the male subject stopped and squared off with the officer.  The officer deployed his Tazer and the man fell to the ground.  The man then failed to follow the instructions of the officer and attempted to get up from the ground, which lead to him being Tazed again.  The man was taken into custody and placed in jail for Disorderly Conduct and Resisting an Officer. Lieutenant Hartwell also reports that Friday morning just after two am, A 52 year old man from Adel, was stopped for questioning,  in the 800 Block of  South  Main Street regarding an unrelated complaint.  During questioning, police determined the man was intoxicated. He failed the field sobriety tests.  The man was cited for  a first Offense OWI and placed in jail on a 12 hour hold.
