8 / 5 West Bend Police Report Drug Possession and OWI Arrests

Patrol officers with the West Bend Police Department had a busy weekend with multiple arrests ranging from drug possession, OWI’s, disorderly conduct and a theft forgery case. Lieutenant Michael Hartwell reports that Friday night just before ten pm, a 27 year old man from Milwaukee was found unresponsive in his car in the Walmart parking lot. A citizen flagged down a Police Officer who was in the area.  The Officer recognized that the man had overdosed and administered Narcan.  The man regained consciousness and was transported to St Joseph’s Hospital. An Investigation determined he   had overdosed on heroin.  After being medically cleared, the man was placed in jail on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Bail Jumping. About two hours later on Friday night, The Washington County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a possible drunk driver traveling North on Highway 45 approaching Paradise Drive.  A West Bend Officer observed the vehicle traveling on Highway 45 at approximately 40 mph and drifting out of his lane.  The vehicle was stopped near 45 and Decorah Road and the driver was found to be intoxicated.  The driver failed the field sobriety tests and was cited for a first Offense OWI
