A highly contested race in the sixth congressional district GOP primary looks to be headed to a recount between two of the candidates Glen Grothman and Joe Liebham. Initially it appeared that Glen Grothman had pulled the upset victory and defeated his opponents including Liebham by a slim margin. Then a second check on the results from Liebham’s home district of Sheboygan County made the race actually too close to call, with Grothman holding just a 215 vote lead. Grothman had an unofficial tally of 23,241 to Leibham's 23,026. The unofficial slim margin makes a recount seem inevitable. One result from the campaign that is certain has State Rep. Duey Stroebel finishing third and Tom Denow in fourth. The winner between either Grothman or Liebham will go on to face Democrat Mark Harris, the Winnebago County executive in the fall election.
