For the second time this week, a vehicle is destroyed by a fire along a Washington County roadway. The latest happened Tuesday morning at approximately eleven thirty along Highway 45 near Mileview Road. According to West Bend Fire Department Battalion Chief Chuck Bye-stell a man was returning home from having just picked up his restored Fiero in Richfield when he heard a loud pop sound. He pulled over to investigate and noticed that his brake calipers were completely on fire. He attempted to douse the flames with two bottles of water, but was not successful. Fire fighters were dispatched to the scene and upon their arrival; the fire had spread to the entire back end of the car. Traffic was limited to just one lane along a stretch of 45 North while work on extinguishing the fire was being conducted. They were able to get the fire under control, and a short time later, normal traffic flow was restored. The car was considered to be a total loss from all the damages.
