8 /21 Hartford Police Chief Consoles Blodgett Family

Following thirteen months of grief and sorrow, justice for Jessie Blodgett was reached Tuesday afternoon when a jury deliberated three hours and returned a guilty verdict against Daniel Bartelt for her murder. Hartford Chief of Police, David Groves issued a statement following the verdict in which he thanked officers and offered words of consolation to Jessie’s family. He also thanked the Washington County D.A 's office for their " articulate and methodical prosecution in this complex case" Chief Groves also paid tribute to Hartford Police Detective Rich Thickens and other officers for their countless hours of work on the investigation that help to build the case.Bartelt faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. He will be sentenced before the Honorable Todd  Martens on October 14.
