As the new fall semester got underway on Thursday at the three area campuses of Moraine Park Technical College, officials from the regional trade and Tech College announced that attendance is down. MPTC vice president of student affairs Stan Cram didn’t seem to worry as he quickly noted that attendance is down at technical college campuses across the state. He says MPTC was down between 3.5 and 5.9 percent as of a week ago, but that number maybe somewhat less now. He says one positive sign is that they are up when it comes to students who have declared a program by 8.5 percent. He says that’s important because they want people to be in programs working toward a certificate or diploma. Cram says his role is to make sure students get all the information they need about attending MPTC. Moraine Park technical College has three campuses including West Bend; Fon Du LAC and Beaver Dam along with regional centers in Jackson and Ripon.
