Several area teenagers had their final week of Summer vacation get off to a bad start, as they ran into conflicts with West Bend police. According to Lieutenant Michael Hartwell, Monday afternoon at four, A 15 year old boy from Jackson, was being disruptive at the Youth Treatment Center and threw a chair. While being escorted by staff back to his pod, the boy was yelling and swearing and pushed the staff member. Police officers came to the facility and he was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Violation of a Non-Secure Custody and placed in secure detention. A few hours later at six thirty, an officer was flagged down by a West Bend resident on the south east side, who reported that her son’s bike was stolen overnight and she had observed a 15 year old boy riding the bike and she confronted him. The boy dropped the bike and ran. Police began a search and eventually the 15 year old boy along with two additional boys ages 17 and 15 , both residents of West Bend, were located on the Eisenbahn Trail. The initial 15 year old was cited for Theft. The 17 year old admitted to riding the bike and was cited for Party to a Crime/Theft. The other 15 year old was found to be in possession of marijuana and was cited. Finally, early Tuesday morning at twelve thirty am, a 20 year old West Bend woman, was stopped for not having a front license plate displayed. During the stop, the officer determined that the driver had been drinking. She failed the field sobriety tests and was cited for her first Offense OWI. A 19 year old West Bend girl who was a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Muskego for OWI and she was also cited for Underage Alcohol Consumption. In addition to the two females, a 20 year old West Bend man who was also a passenger in the vehicle, was also cited for Underage Alcohol Consumption.
