Biography

Barry "The Bear" Hersh is a veteran personality in the Wisconsin radio industry for over 20 years. During the course of his broadcasting career Barry has worked in just about every capacity both on and off the air at various radio stations including Madison, Ripon, Sheboygan, Milwaukee and now West Bend.

Barry has been with WBKV since 2005 and enjoys his role as the station's utility fill-in announcer. Barry will often fill in for Bob Bonenfant on the morning show when Bob is off on one of his many travel/gambling trips. Barry can also be heard reporting the news at various times when the News Director is unavailable.

Barry specializes in sports and is the Sports Producer for WBKV. Barry is a well-seasoned broadcaster with WIAA High School Sports which is where he primarily heard on WBKV. He has covered hundreds of Badgers, Packers, Brewers, Bucks, Marquette games. Some of the marquee events he has covered include....Super Bowl XXXII & XXXVII; Rose Bowl 1994-1999-2000; MLB All-Star Game 2002; PGA Golf Championship 2004 & 2010.

Barry and his wife Linda live in Milwaukee. When not working his numerous part-time hours at WBKV, Barry is employed full-time as a travel consultant at Brookfield Travel.
